Alcohol and sugar
Where the calories in a drink actually come from
Two things, and only two. Alcohol and sugar.
Alcohol carries around 7 calories per gram, which makes it the larger share in almost every drink. Sugar carries 4. In wine that sugar is whatever the yeast did not convert. In beer it is whatever survived from the grain. In a spritz or a pre-mixed can it is usually added on purpose.
Most low calorie drinks cut the alcohol, because that is the easier lever. We left the alcohol alone and took out the sugar instead.
The arithmetic bears it out. Alcohol at 11% contributes roughly 61 calories per 100ml by itself, and our wine measures 60. There is nothing else in the bottle.

Made in Italy
Wine
Red, white, rosé, sparkling white and sparkling rosé. All 11% vol, all 0g sugar, all 60 kcal per 100ml. Made in Italy, in the Asti hills of Piedmont and the Prosecco DOCG area, and registered with the Vegan Society.
The fermentation runs until every gram of natural grape sugar has converted into alcohol, which is why the strength stays where it is.
SLBrew
Beer
SLBrew is brewed in Italy by a family run brewery. The lager is 4% ABV at 22 kcal per 100ml, which is 72 calories a can. The session IPA is 4.4% and hop forward, which is unusual in a low calorie beer because most cut the hops along with everything else.
Neither is weakened. Both are zero sugar.
SLGin and SLSpritz
Gin and spritz
SLGin is a zero sugar gin. With a spirit, the calories come almost entirely from the alcohol, so the mixer usually decides the total. A 25ml measure with slimline tonic is one of the lightest drinks you can pour.
SLSpritz comes ready to pour in Limoncello, Elderflower and Orange. A classic Italian spritz carries most of its calories in a sweetened liqueur, so removing the sugar removes most of the difference.
0g carbohydrate
Suitable for keto, low carb and Atkins
Carbohydrate in a drink comes almost entirely from sugar. Our wine carries 0g carbs per serving, which is what makes it workable on a ketogenic or low carb plan where the daily ceiling might be twenty grams.
A standard dry wine usually costs two to four grams a glass. This costs none.
Being straight about it
What we do not make
We do not make an alcohol free or de-alcoholised drink. Everything here is full strength.
If low or no alcohol is what you are after, this is not the range for you, and we would rather say so than sell you something that misses the point. Low calorie and low alcohol are two different things.
Cases, taster packs and delivery
The three bottle wine taster pack is the usual starting point. After that most people buy by the case, in six or twelve, which gives the lowest price per bottle. Beer comes in six and twenty four packs.

Frequently asked questions
The lager, at 22 kcal per 100ml and 72 calories a can. The wine is 60 kcal per 100ml, which works out at 75 calories in a small 125ml glass.
No, and it is worth knowing the difference. Low alcohol means reduced strength. Ours is full strength, with the sugar removed instead. Reducing alcohol is the more common route because alcohol is where most of the calories sit.
The wine carries 0g carbohydrate per serving, which is why people on ketogenic plans choose it. If you are following a clinically supervised plan, check with whoever is supervising it.
No. Everything we make is full strength.
